SCOOT A CITY, LLC may revise these Website Terms and Conditions for its web site at any time without notice. By using this web site you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Website Terms and Conditions.
8. Governing Law
Any claim relating to SCOOT A CITY, LLC's web site shall be governed by the laws of the State of CALIFORNIA without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Rental Terms and Conditions
1. Customer Rental Requirements
a. Customer must be at least 21 years of age to rent scooters larger than 50cc and at least 18 years of age to rent 50cc scooters.
b. Customer must have a current active motorcycle license from customer's home jurisdiction which allows customer to ride the size of scooter they will be renting and riding. Please note that most states and countries require some sort of motorcycle driving license to ride motor scooters.
2. Booking & Reservation Deposit
Customer shall be charged a booking and reservation deposit when booking vehicle(s) and accessories (“Booking/Reservation Deposit”). This deposit is a percentage of the estimated rental charges of the vehicle(s) and accessories reserved and guarantees and holds your reservation. The Booking/Reservation Deposit is non-refundable, except as specified below in Delivery and Pickup.
3. Security Deposit Due on Delivery
A security deposit is due at the time the vehicle(s) and accessories are delivered to the customer and will be held during the customer’s rental period (“Security Deposit”). The amount of the Security Deposit to be held will be the customer’s estimated rental charges or $1,000 per scooter, whichever is greater. The Security Deposit may be either an authorization on Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express or cash/cashier’s check for the amount of the Security Deposit. The Security Deposit shall be released after vehicle(s) and accessories pickup date subject to and contingent upon terms in the rental agreement.
Customer must purchase daily liability insurance in order to be added to SCOOT A CITY, LLC’s rental insurance policy. The current daily insurance rate is $15.00 per day per renter. This provides the renter with the minimum limits required by any applicable compulsory or financial responsibility law. This mandatory daily liability insurance is purchased in renter’s name from SCOOT A CITY, LLC’s insurance company. SCOOT A CITY, LLC provides no vehicle insurance coverage to renter.
5. Delivery and Pickup
SCOOT A CITY, LLC endeavors to deliver and pickup customer’s vehicle(s) and accessories promptly per the customer’s booking reservation. However, seldom there may be circumstances such as traffic accidents, road closures, etc., where prompt delivery and pickup may not be possible. Thus, in the unlikely event customer’s vehicle(s) and accessories are not delivered or picked up within one (1) hour after customer’s scheduled delivery time or pickup time (“Late Delivery” or “Late Pickup”), customer shall be entitled to the following:
a. Late Delivery – Customer may elect to cancel the reservation and shall receive a full refund of the Booking/Reservation Deposit, or if customer elects to proceed with the rental customer shall receive a rental charge credit for the full amount of the Booking/Reservation Deposit.
b. Late Pickup – Customer shall receive a rental charge credit in the amount of 20% of the total rental charges due upon pickup.
6. Reservation Changes and Cancellations
Customer may request to change their reservation and SCOOT A CITY, LLC may accommodate the reservation change in SCOOT A CITY, LLC's sole and absolute discretion. Reservation changes and reservation cancellations are subject to a fee in the amount of 20% of the total rental charges of the original reservation.
7. Refund Policy
Except as specified in Delivery and Pickup above and/or in the rental agreement or at SCOOT A CITY, LLC’s sole and absolute discretion, there shall be no refunds of Booking/Reservation Deposit or rental charges due and paid upon vehicle(s) and accessories pickup date.
8. Payment Methods Accepted
SCOOT A CITY, LLC accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Traveler’s Cheques, Cashier's Checks and Cash.
• We will collect and use personal information solely for the objective of conducting our business, providing our service and for other compatible purposes, unless we obtain the consent of the individual concerned or as required by law.
• We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes or as may be required by law or any of our affiliates or vendors.
• We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned.
• Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is to be used, and, to the extent necessary for those purposes, should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
• We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
