Our business hours are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, 7 days per week. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
WHAT KIND OF LICENSE DO I NEED TO RENT YOUR SCOOTERS?
You must have a valid motorcycle license permitting you to ride the scooter you will be renting from us where you live. Your license must show the appropriate class or endorsement demonstrating you are licensed to ride the motor scooter you will be renting from us in your home jurisdiction. You must present your license at time of delivery. Pictures or photo copies of your license are not acceptable, your actual license must be present. NOTE FOR PHOTO/VIDEO PRODUCTION RENTERS: Please see Q&A below.
Below is a list of license classifications required to rent our scooters:
Licenses issued from the European Union (Germany, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden):
- A1 – Will allow you to rent our 50 scooters.
- A2 or A – Will allow you to rent our 150 or 300 scooters.
Licenses issued from Canada:
- Class 6 designation – For all provinces except for Ontario, allows you to rent our scooters.
- Class M/M1/M2: Will allow you to rent our scooters.
Licenses issued from Australia:
- R or R-Date – Will allow you to rent our scooters.
Licenses issued from Brazil:
- Category A – Will allow you to rent our scooters; a designation on your driver’s license to ride any motorcycle or scooter.
CAN I RENT YOUR SCOOTERS TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PHOTO AND/OR VIDEO PRODUCTION USE WITHOUT A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE SINCE I WILL NOT BE OPERATING THE SCOOTERS?
Yes, we can rent you our scooters for media production use without you needing a motorcycle license under a non-operational rental agreement.
CAN I RENT YOUR SCOOTERS TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PHOTO AND/OR VIDEO PRODUCTION USE WITHOUT A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY OR PUBLIC PROPERTY WITH A PRODUCTION PERMIT?
Yes, we can rent you our scooters for media production use without you needing a motorcycle license under a limited operation rental agreement. The limited operation rental agreement will restrict your operation of the scooters to private property and/or public property as stated in the production permit from the appropriate jurisdictional authority such as FilmL.A.
CAN I RENT YOUR SCOOTERS WITH MY MOTORCYCLE LICENSE LEARNER’S PERMIT, PRIOR TO ATTAINING MY MOTORCYCLE LICENSE?
Typically not, unless you carry a liability insurance policy on a personal motorcycle and your insurance carrier for that liability policy will allow that policy to transfer to cover the scooter you are renting from us. Please check with your insurer and contact us if your policy will transfer so we can provide you the requisite information to provide your insurer for the scooter you will be renting and for naming us as additional insured on the policy. AAA is the only insurance company we currently know of that will transfer to cover our scooter rentals. Unfortunately, our liability insurer will not cover riders with only a learner’s permits.
CAN I RENT YOUR SCOOTERS TO TAKE MY DMV SKILLS TEST?
Possibly, either if your liability insurance policy on your personal motorcycle or scooter will transfer to cover the scooter you are renting (see answer to question above) or if the scooter is to be delivered and picked up at the DMV and will not be ridden off the DMV property onto public streets. Please check with the DMV first to verify they will permit taking your skills test on an automatic scooter and verify it will be OK to have the scooter delivered and picked up at the DMV assuming your liability policy on your personal motorcycle or scooter will not transfer to cover our rental.
HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT YOUR SCOOTERS?
You must be at least 18 years old to rent our 50cc scooters and at least 21 years old to rent all scooters larger than 50cc. This age requirement applies to any additional rider/operator of the scooter and additional rider/operator must also sign the rental agreement along with the primary renter. There is no minimum age requirement for passengers, however the passenger must be able to reach the passenger footrests of the scooter.
WHAT SCOOTERS DO YOU RENT?
We only rent modern Vespa scooters. Our Vespas are meticulously maintained and well cared for. There is no substitute for the style, safety, comfort and performance only Vespa provides. Please visit Our Scoots section of our homepage to see our current fleet of Vespas. If your favorite modern Vespa is not in our fleet, please let us know and we’ll consider adding it.

HOW DO I DETERMINE MY HELMET SIZE?
The best way to determine your optimal helmet size is by measuring your head and then trying the helmet on to test the fit. First, measure your head by wrapping a tape measure around your head about one inch (1″) above your eyebrows. Next, determine which helmet size below corresponds to your head measurement.
- 53-54 cm – XS Helmet
- 55-56 cm – SM Helmet
- 57-58 cm – MD Helmet
- 59-60 cm – LG Helmet
- 61-62 cm – XL Helmet
- 63-64 cm – XXL Helmet
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL?
Included in your rental is delivery/pickup within a 10-mile radius of Downtown Los Angeles, DOT approved helmets for rider and passenger, a full tank of fuel (you are not required to refuel when scoot is picked up), a minimum liability insurance policy and unlimited mileage (except when rented for production use under non-operational rental agreement). We will deliver and pick up as far as 50 miles from Downtown Los Angeles, but there is a delivery surcharge of $5 per mile outside the free 10-mile radius. In addition, all of our Vespas are outfitted with protective sidebars front and rear. ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS ON TOP OF MY RENTAL?
Not unless your scooter is delivered outside the free 10-mile radius of Downtown Los Angeles.
HOW DOES THE SECURITY DEPOSIT (CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION) WORK?
A security deposit in the amount of $1,000 per scooter rented or the total estimated rental charges, whichever is larger, is required at the time we deliver. The security deposit is not a charge, but rather a hold of funds which will be deducted against the available balance on your credit card. You may also elect to pay the security deposit with cash. You will be given a receipt as confirmation of your security deposit amount. If your scooter and accessories are available for pick up on your scheduled pick up time free of damage or loss, then the security deposit will be released/refunded.
CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL RIDERS TO MY RENTAL?
Yes, you may add additional riders to your rental as long as they are over 21 years of age, properly licensed, and also sign the rental contract. Please note that additional riders must be present at delivery time and present their valid driver’s license(s) at time of delivery.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON FUEL REPLACEMENT?
We deliver your scoot full of fuel and you are not required to fill it back up when we pick it up.
WHAT IF I BREAKDOWN, GET A FLAT OR GET INTO AN ACCIDENT?
Should you experience any sort of mechanical issue, please call us at 855.728.2289. Should you get into an accident, immediately contact 911 if any serious medical injuries are sustained. Then call the police to file a police report and exchange insurance, driving license ID numbers, vehicle plate numbers and contact information with any other parties involved in the accident. Also, please document any damage to property or vehicles involved in the accident by taking photos of the damage.
AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR MY RENTAL IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE, THEFT OR LOSS?
Yes, you are responsible for the full amount of any damage, theft or loss of your rental per the terms of our rental contract. The mandatory liability insurance policy only covers you for the California statutory minimum liability limits required by law, but does not cover your damage or loss to your rental. However, we do offer damage/loss waiver coverage for an additional fee that you can purchase to limit your liability in the event of accidental damage or loss to your rental.
DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS ON LONG TERM RENTALS?
Yes, our 7+ day rate provides a good discount on the scoot and accessories rental.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Traveler’s cheques, cashier’s checks and cash. A 20% reservation booking fee is required at the time of booking on our website and must be paid by credit card. The Security Deposit required upon delivery may either be a credit card authorization or cash.
IS THERE A DAILY MILEAGE RESTRICTION?
No, unlimited mileage is included in your rental. We want you to START YOUR ADVENTURE & GET AROUND without limitation. Enjoy!
CAN I TAKE MY RENTAL ACROSS STATELINE OR ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS?
You must stay in the state of California on our scooters. There are plenty of awesome adventures and places to experience on scoot in the city! You are welcome to scoot outside the city as well as long as you stay within California and provide yourself enough time to have your rental at the pick up location on your scheduled pick up time.
WHAT IF I NEED OR WANT TO EXTEND MY RENTAL PERIOD?
If you want to extend your rental period, you must contact us no later than 8 hours prior to your scheduled pick up time by calling us at 855.728.2289. We will then check the booking schedule for your rental and, if there are no future booking conflicts with accommodating your rental extension, and at our discretion, we may elect to allow you to extend your rental period.
